Livestock Breeding, Plant Hybridization & Agricultural Production

Thunder Cactus Ranch is a family-owned agricultural operation in Tombstone, Arizona, specializing in livestock breeding, plant hybridization, greenhouse growing, and agricultural production.

Our programs include cattle, sheep, goats, poultry, working dogs, vegetables, and seed-producing plants. We use selective breeding, open pollination, and controlled hybridization to develop and evaluate breeding lines and plant varieties.

Alongside our breeding programs, we raise livestock, grow seasonal crops, and develop agricultural products for direct sale.

Our Animals

Cattle, Dorper and Longhorn Dorper sheep, goats, poultry and Ardards Mastiff working dogs, each with its own breeding and selection program.

Our Plants & Gardens

Vegetables, culinary herbs, orchard crops and seed-producing plants. We grow for harvest and for seed, selecting and crossing plants to develop our own lines.

Our Greenhouses

Greenhouse space is where we start seed, propagate plants, raise vegetable starts and run growing trials for our selection work.
